Myth: It dishonors those who opened up cross-town opportunities for ROTC at top colleges to have on-campus ROTC

Instance of the myth: In a Big Peace blog post, the claim was made that it would be "dishonoring the legacy" of pioneers such as Steven Peck, who opened up the cross-town opportunities for Harvard students to take ROTC at MIT, to have an ROTC program at Harvard, since this would encourage less determined people to serve. 

Facts: Steven Peck told Advocates for ROTC that "it would be fantastic if Harvard got its own unit again".
